Self-Awareness Is Important To Form New Habits

The way that people subconsciously or unknowingly create their own realities is principally in three ways; by their thoughts, emotions and actions. By actions I do not mean conscious actions but actions that imply a certain “attitude”, actions that are carried out with little or no self awareness. – Our Ultimate Reality

Our subconscious helps us by letting us do things on auto pilot or creating habits. Therefore we don’t have to think about things every time we do them. This leaves room for thinking about things that’s more important.

When you’re aware you have the ability to choose to change or stay the same.
You can form new habits or keep doing the same thing. I know for myself just because we know better doesn’t mean that we will do better.

If we want change in our lives, we have to make new habits or we’ll keep getting what we always got. You know what people are called who keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect something to change? Their called . . . insane!

So, if we want something better for ourselves let’s become self aware. Find out what and where in our lives we need to make changes, form new habits and make a better life for ourselves.

Social Experiment: Want to see yourself and your habits? Start a vlog or just record yourself with your phone. Do this for 7 days and nights. Before you start your day talk to your camera about the things that you would like to accomplish today. Your goals, to do list and your job. 30 Minutes before bed talk to your camera about your day. Did you come close to reaching your goal or did you reach it, how many tasks did you check off your to do list, how was work today and what you have planned for tomorrow. After 7 days you should have 14 recordings of yourself. Review your talks. Notice how you’re feeling about seeing yourself. Are you rooting for this person you see talking to you? Do you want this person to make changes or are you happy with who you see. If you have a journal write out your conclusions. If you’re happy with who you saw on the recordings then good for you. If you’re not happy with the person on the recordings then write out what you would like for that person to do differently. Make the adjustments and record yourself again for another 7 days and nights. Review the recording and see if the adjustments you wanted to see showed up. If so, then YAY! If not then keep taking notes, adjusting your behavior and reviewing your recordings.

Hello! I'm Ericka Bates. I am a wife and mother of 2. Totally nosey with the ability to read. Therefore a great researcher. Things I like to look into autism treatments, health, meditation, and personal development. In much of my findings with autism, stress came up a lot. Stress turned out to be the cause for most health problems. Know what can defeat stress? Meditation! Meditation is not only a great way to get rid of stress, but it's also used to reduce anxiety, depression, anger, lower blood pressure and increase your creativity. There are many forms of meditation and right now I am actively practicing 4. I sit quietly and watch my breath. At first this was hard. My mind kept wondering, I was sitting in thought. Now my mind still wonders some, but I think that I'm getting the hang of it. Hey, practice makes perfect right. Walking is my favorite form of meditation. I listen to a podcast while walking and when I'm done I feel relaxed. Gratefulness or Gratitude is another good one. When I get upset, I stop and think okay, what's five things that's good about this situation. This calms me down and makes me feel better. Like the saying goes happiness is a choice and I wanna be happy. Happiness just doesn't show up you have to produces that kind of energy for yourself. Visualization is the fourth form of meditation I practice. I have a vision board with pictures of the things I want and the things I want to do. The pictures are fun to find, cut out, arrange, pin up and their nice to look at every day. Because your only choosing the things you like and want to do makes this form of meditation a joy to have in your life. It wasn't hard making meditation a part of my every day life. Now I feel that meditation is the foundation to anyone's personal development. Hopefully you'll find a form or forms of meditation that's just right for you too.
