Good or bad dead or alive people will talk and hatter are gonna hate, but hey the only thing that we can truly control is ourselves.
“All of us need to understand the importance of branding. We are CEOs of our own companies: Me Inc. To be in business today, our most important job is to be head marketer for the brand called You.”
– Tom Peters
Yes! People will talk, because that’s what we as people do. So, what can we do about it? The truth is nothing, We can’t stop people from talking about us, but what we can do about our name/brand is take control of what we ourselves put out on social media and how we carry our selves in public.

Are you on time for appointments? Yes! It matters if your 3 minutes late. Your suppose to be there 15 minutes before your meeting, so that your meeting will get started at the appointed time. Do you keep your word? If you got to stop and think or if your answer isn’t a defiant YES then your answer is no and that means that your unreliable. When you say you’re going to do something, do you do it with the best of your abilities? The work you do for others and for yourself is a reflections of you and your work is your name/brand.

Yeah we know people talk and I wanna say so what, but everyone isn’t out to put us down. So, I’m going to tell you that this is a good time to practice mindfulness with these 4 steps Stop, Look, Listen and Feel.
Stop – Don’t get defensive. Look – Who’s telling you this information, where are you receiving this information? Is the person sharing this information with you online, text, on the phone, in person, in a group or in privet. Listen – take in what the person is telling you, don’t think while they are talking to you actually listen to the words they are saying. Feel – How do you feel knowing this information now?
“If you don’t give the market the story to talk about, they’ll define your brand’s story for you.” – David Brier
1st. Off is it true? If so, is there something that you can do about it. If yes then do it, if you want to. If what they just told you isn’t true then present you evidence or just don’t worry about it.
2nd. Was this person and or information helpful to you?
Social Experiment: Describe your brand to us in the comments below. Then look up your name/brand using someone else’s phone or computer. Do this 3 times, each time using a different browser. Did your name/brand show up? How do you feel about the information you found and is it true? Did it match what you wrote in the comments here?
